It’s anecdotal, but I know a handful of people who ended up with either a Model Y or an ID.4 who also test drove a Mach-E. All of them were underwhelmed by what Ford had to offer. I’m sure there are a ton of people who have followed the market closely enough to have ruled out the Mach-E before even looking at it, and

1. Even for the few Americans who have the money for a new car, EVs are expensive.

all they promised with your preorder was locking in the price of FSD at the time you ordered it.

The notion that anyone is dumb enough to drop $50K on that POS just blows my mind.

And the airline was free to sell those two non-stop tickets. They chose to sell the layover ticket, presumably because in reality there wasn’t a buyer for those high-priced tickets. The airline didn’t lose anything.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.”

The problem is simple and has just a few elements. Tesla is WAY cheaper. Compare a Model Y Performance to a Mach E GT and there is a $20,000 difference. The Model Y has more utility and range and it has the Tesla charging network.  It’s a banner year for car sales but an electric cars that have no reliable charging

You dont need 240v to drive an EV unless you’re a real outlier and drive way more than average. I have a 2016 model S P90D which is not an efficient EV by today’s standards, and I drive well above average at 1500 miles a month. I make do with charging from a 20amp 110v socket (nema 5-20 outlet, VERY common, you’ve

Nonsense. Teslas are multiplying like rabbits around here. Most of my neighbors who have bought new cars are going the EV route. I myself recently purchased a Polestar 2.

If you have access to charge at home it's more convenient. If not then it's not the best time to go BEV.

They needed a full Volt lineup and not a small sedan. A VOLT crossover would have sold boatloads. As a platform it was great.

Counterpoint: The Bolt is awesome transportation for the money.

The level of analysis on this is article is so low it’s honestly pretty pathetic. This isn’t about US consumers not wanting EVs. It’s about a combination of issues; generally EV skeptical dealerships stranglehold on the car market, massive subsidies for gasoline keeping ICE running costs relatively cheap, the US being

it’s possible that there is not enough meat on the bone for the manufacturers to lower their price. Especially the Asian manufacturers.

And one automaker I’m not seeing mentioned here is Tesla.

All cars are saddled by the 7% interest rate, data collection, and arguably the tech obsolescence.

The credit moves to point of sale starting in 2024.

The Genesis, Audi and Hummer are all super pricey. Also, MB EQSs and iXs are piling up on lots.

Argh! This article is spectacularly wrong. Notice that these figures do not include Tesla. The correct headline is: No one in the US wants to buy electric vehicles FROM DEALERS. There. Fixed it for you. This is EXACTLY the reason why Tesla doesn’t use dealers and will never compromise on using dealers. Car dealers

What about that series of complaints doesn’t apply to their newest ICE vehicles?
