Yeah, I think the Lightning’s performance is good enough for what people use a F150 for. I think the comments about crap range when towing max load are overblown because nobody would tow max load on a F-150 for long distances.

This. People who’ve tried towing 8-10k on the regular with a half ton often find out that it doesn’t guarantee that the transmission will survive the length of the loan term.

How many people tow a 10,000 lb trailer with any F-150 regularly for long distances?  I see people that drive any significant distance getting HD trucks because they are more stable at highway speeds.

A small minority of full size trucks get used for towing heavy loads anywhere close to the max. An even smaller minority (mostly people towing large camping trailers or fifth wheels) are used to tow for long distances.

Why do people keep ranting about range while towing? People that actually need to tow any great distance aren’t interested in these. These are for people that need to tow their boat five miles to the lake/river/whatever, but otherwise use their truck like a family sedan.

That’s still much more time consuming than the average BEV owner who charges at home, at work or while they shop. 

There’s no line in my driveway, and no time wasted visiting a gas station as my car charges while I sleep.
