*were well known. If you’ve kept up with the trends, like Sandy Munro’s teardown videos, things have greatly improved. Now it’s just parroting an old trope
I have only ridden in them from Uber - but the Teslas I rode in were all very nice and comfortable.
Yeah I think most people have never driven a Model 3. They’re parroting the anti-Elon == anti-Tesla mantra that is common on this site.
I made the same point elsewhere: I’d be shocked if the price drop wasn’t planned. At the very least, the framework for pricing is set months or quarters in advance.
Do you have any citations for widespread build quality issues that are newer than 4 or 5 years old? Having owned 11 cars, the Tesla in my fleet is the least cheap feeling. Everything is soft touch except things that obviously can’t or shouldn’t be. The door cards are suede, the dashboard has some sort of squish, the…
All things being equal, including the budget for engineering and construction, a larger vehicle has more crumple zones and a heavier vehicle is more likely to cause damage than receive it in an crash.
“ so I’m not really sure what the point you’re trying to make is.”
Fun fact, I have a reservation for a Canoo (if they ever come out) to replace my current BMW i3. Same designer!
I know Ill end up sitting in the grays and this will be lost but.. I would recommend an i3S. Ive had both the regular i3 and the S version: the bit of suspension tuning, wider wheels and tires, and a touch more power make it a lot more enjoyable to drive and despite the short wheelbase it has better highway manners…
Former i3 owner here and still 6'6".
I rented one on Turo a few years back, and was pleasantly surprised. For a tiny car, it had tons of space and felt super airy inside.
“the narrow wheels of the i3 lost all traction at highway speeds.”
I’m not sure any of these responses hit it. Also, never a bimmer person, but the i3 is the only BMW to interest me for about the past 10 years.
You have heard that many places for sure, but it’s generally not true. If Tesla is selling it themselves (basically CPO), they will add or subtract software on the car depending on market conditions. But Tesla doesn’t modify installed software for private sales.
Most of China tends to shut down for 1-3 weeks for the Lunar New Year. It’s the country’s biggest holiday, so yes, that’s it, for no other reason other than workers want to spend their time off celebrating with family and friends. It’s been this way for centuries, with its citizens traveling great distances for the…
1st: Tesla used cars are bound to drop. They have always been a discount based on the current new car price. With the IRA qualifying Tesla for rebates for 2023, we saw this first hand in Dec 2022 where Tesla offered the same $7500 rebate to buy now instead of waiting for 2023. I suspect used Tesla prices will drop the…
Other than like the Leaf, Bolt, ID.4 and maybe the Teslas, good luck getting any of those delivered before March or whatever. Really only helps people who were already planning to buy the vehicles anyways and had put down a deposit months or years ago.
Not a fan of the 2-tier price cap depending on body style - the last thing we need to be doing is incentivizing less efficient allocation of resources. With a limited amount of battery materials available, creating larger batteries to propel heavier vehicles will inevitably result in fewer of those vehicles being…
Ok, so which EVs are now again eligible for the tax credit? You guys love slideshows, here is your chance to make one that might actually be useful.
