Yes, it’s the supply chain that caused the Pro to go up by $20k and the Platinum, that uses the same drivetrain and parts has only increased by like $5k in that same time.

but the entire fleet of Lightning vehicles well out-prices the F-150 lineup.
It’s the same length as the Tacoma you said you wanted. There are other reasons you might not want one, but the size is not far off the Tacoma.
A. Come up with a freaking standard charger interface. I don’t drive into a gas station hoping their nozzle fits my tank.
Ghost chargers are becoming a real problem because the incentives were to *build* the chargers. Not actually operate them. So they built them, and then never turned them on.
F-150: $33,695, Lightning: $55,974.
How about something that looks and feels like a gas car, rather than having a unique design or outward appearance signifying it’s all electric?
So far all of the EV trucks are taking form in huge trucks.
Race Red > Rapid Red, in real life (not necessarily configurator images). Race Red is basically just bright red. Rapid Red is bland in comparison. Looks like a color you’d see on just about any random crossover.
Grabber Green is maybe the best Mustang color ever. Grabber Blue is great, too, and there are some other good ones, but I’d take Grabber Green.
Me: Fortunately, there are plenty of people who don’t need to tow 10,000lb long distances
I’m not saying there are no downsides or weak spots with the Lightning. There are.
Then why are they buying an F150 in the first place? These types of comments make no damn sense.
The people who have bought the truck to own seem happy with it. The people who bought the truck to create Youtube content aren’t. Draw your own conclusions as to why that’s the case.
The real-world towing range tests that are out there for the F150 Lightning show that it can go about 90 miles
There are tons of people who tow heavy things short distances: Local contractors towing Bobcats. People towing boats to the ocean/lake (I could reach the ocean and back or about 50 different lakes and back even with only 90 miles of range). It’s not misleading at all to say what the max towing capacity is. Gas trucks…
Perhaps we wouldn’t keep ranting (doesn’t feel like a rant) about range while towing if we weren’t being constantly told that this is an EV truck that does truck-like things!!
Fortunately, there are tons of people whose use case doesn’t include “towing 10,000 trailers far”, including families/people using trucks as commuters and family haulers and tons of fleet vehicles used for “truck stuff” every day.
I don’t buy TST’s explanation (no incentive to fix/maintain, so they don’t bother). Electrify America has completely replaced a ton of their sites recently with all-new hardware and such. They are spending big money to ATTEMPT to fix the problem. But they still quickly don’t work correctly. The ones near me were…
I have an EV with “plug and charge”. I’ve tried 14 unique Electrify America locations from Iowa to Florida.
