Having just read the Thrawn trilogy for the first time and then read snippets of Aftermath I am feeling completely let down. Aftermath is just... so bad. How did it ever clear for publishing?

Thank you. I’m firmly of the camp that there was no need to do a full-on “reboot” and they could have simply overwritten the post-Endor era for their new stuffs.
