I agree if he was a filthy old white guy, he would have gotten a more severe sentence. I also think that if all else was equal, he would have gotten a harsher sentence if he was black. To be fair though, criminals of all races sometimes get a very low sentence.

I haven’t seen any stats on conviction rates, but I suspect it’s really high for all races since most people who are arrested are guilty. The crime rates are much different but I think lawyers are a small part of that.
