The UX of the PS3 and PS4 menus was just bad. Functionality was buried in completely unintuitive places, the action efficiency was low, relevant info was rarely dynamically surfaced. People got used to it and it was usually snappy, but it’s not a great user experience.

I don’t really see any of those as problems though.

Now playing

Way TOO MUCH playing guitar??? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

I found it less about Ellie being vengeful, and more about her needing closure for Joel. She’s TRIED to put it behind her. The PTSD hasn’t made that easy for her. She’s still haunted by it. The way I saw it, she decided that it’ll be impossible for her to move on until she kills Abby.

They should have ended it at the farm. The game was so bloated on the back in that it became frustrating. In the last hour or so they introduce a new location and a new faction but don’t really give them any room to breathe. Their entire existence was to give a reason to weaken Abby enough to make a one on one fight

The big revelation was that Ellie decided to start letting Joel back into her life, after years of cutting him off, only to watch him be brutally murdered the next day. It’s an extra heaping of guilt on her shoulders that helps explain why she’s so driven to go after Abby. Hell, I’d say Ellie’s motivations throughout

This ending is highly controversial and also a bit ambiguous. Here’s my take on it(SPOILERS, OBVS): I don’t think she leaves on a revenge mission. If you read her journal and combine it with the PTSD flashbacks, you know she hasn’t been as at rest as Dina. Tommy clearly also lost so much, he is unable to walk normally

The game challenged your preconceived notion of these characters that you felt attached to, when they are clearly damaged scumbags. When Mel said “you are a piece of shit” she might as well have said it to Ellie and Joel as well. And people are latching onto this idea that “oh, game says revenge bad. How stupid”.

Personally I think the structure was perfect as it is. It’s important to have Ellie’s revenge spree FIRST, BEFORE you sympathize with Abby. Building up Abby and her friends first before having her do the most horrific thing essentially erases any goodwill you may have gotten from her (it also choreographs Joel’s death

I am here just to express my satisfaction for being able to stroll freely around spoilery news and comments now, cause I have finished the game and avoided spoilers to the very end.

I’d argue that while TLOU’s ending wasn’t strictly happy it wasn’t bleak either. It ends seeing a new world born out of the old even with the lie.

This. I just took off the bottom panel and removed the power supply, then took some cotton swabs and compressed air to the fan and heatsink, and my PS4 is so quiet that I thought I broke the fan for a minute. I’ve had it since launch and that was the first cleaning I gave it, too.

You absolutely don’t need to replace the thermal paste to get your PS4 quiet. Just spend 15 minutes thoroughly and properly cleaning the dust out. It worked wonders for mine to the point where I can’t hear the console if I have my headset on at all.

You don’t need to replace your thermal paste, BUT you do need to open up your PS4 and clean it. You need to clean the fans, and the thermal chamber vents. I had the same issue with a very loud PS4, I opened it up clean out all the dust. That’s all I did. After that it was wisper quite again. The dirt and dust really

Apparently, you missed the last part of the last sentence in all caps. I understand. It’s hard to focus when you’re actively turning yourself into a pretzel to center the conversation away from the topic at hand. IN AMERICA.

I don’t believe for one second you give even a teeny tiny shit about antisemitism. Nice way to try to reframe the conversation though. And if you are Jewish, shame on you for acting like our plight has been as fucking dire these last 400 years IN AMERICA.

Would the previous definition have been some comfort to you in that situation?  Because that’s really bizarre.

I read about this earlier today. As someone who describes myself as a “word person”, I’m glad that a definitive compiler of words and their meanings actually listened and acted appropriately.
