did someone say FreeSpace? because from what I've seen of Dark horizon and what i remember from the good-old days of freespace 2, this looks exaclty the same. even the interface and HUD is ridiculously similar...

You see an intensely realistic simulation of a moving body in first person (I assume... is it?), but your body does not feel the balance, or the G-forces and this really screws up your brain.
