Pretty much yeah, which was something else that bugged me about it. I hate when plot drives character actions, when it's the opposite that's strongest and consistent with any fictional writing.

Sure but to go from riding Donkey Carts to a Aston Martin (not sure the power of that model Danny drives) would require some adjustment. Just a little too suspense breaking for my tastes.

To me it came off as that "nice guy" vibe i get too often from tv series that expect us to approve of behaivour like this and see it as romantic.
