Was that the car that drove Manafort to his meetings with the Ukrainian puppet regime?

Including Russia during their 1996 presidential election, to prevent the poll-leading communist candidate from winning.

We’ve done it to multiple countries for decades.

Exactly.

“I clicked on this article, on a dedicated sub-blog, and scrolled down to the comments section to make a complaint about not liking what I chose to see.”

Here’s my honest question: If it were us doing all this to the Russians, would we care? Clearly we’re in a sort of Space Race 2.0, except rather than getting into outer space, we’re dealing with cyberspace. And much like the first Space Race, the Russians are out in front. Now, obviously we’re not going to like Russia

You keep saying we need to do this we need to do this but your why? is still lacking.

Russia does not have 19 aircraft carriers, but there are 1,000 missiles capable of destroying them!

To that end, the Canadian Coast Guard has four icebreakers in excess of 10k horsepower, two in excess of 20k horsepower, and one funded and approved for construction in excess of 50k horsepower. This is the second largest icebreaking fleet in the world,

You say it like Canada isn’t part of the United States.

An aircraft carrier they can park off the northern coast of Canada and use as a mobile command base to send long-distance bombers into US airspace.

A stupid agument that some 12 year old trolls like to bring up here, they dont have carriers cause they have different strategy. In the same way a russian troll could say “we have superheavy battlecruisers and you dont”

Not north of the Arctic Circle it doesn’t. The U.S. slice of the Arctic is tiny compared to Canada, Russia and others.

I can not disagree with that :) It wasn’t meant to insult you, I just think largest military in the world and exploration comes second after smarter people, and stable(for most people) economy.

Not one of them can get to the arctic without an icebreaker escort. And that’s assuming the air power on the carrier is capable of operating productively in such a harsh environment.

It really puts American military power in perspective when the total number of carriers that other countries have is the equivalent to what we consider amphibious assault ships. Except the new British carriers, which they’ve decided should be tweeners.

I found one...

19?

a giant floating shit pile that can still get some of the richest natural resource deposits and most profitable shipping lanes in the world, thanks to their 40 icebreakers

Now playing

The nuclear Russian icebreakers are badass. 16knots through 6 feet of ice. It’s a pretty ideal application of nuclear shipping - you need a shitload of horsepower, all day, all season, in the middle of nowhere away from fuel supplies.
