That CEO got sick, then left. The next CEO quit after about two years. All of upper management left within three years of my discovery — with very nice leave packages.
I found that three other people knew and tried to call attention to it. They quit.

I did. I made a presentation listing all the errors and omissions and who to ask to make corrections. I told my boss and the CEO about the mistakes. They brushed it off. I couldn’t figure out who to report it to.

The sad part is, you were most likely not the only one to notice these “irregularities.” The problem is that sometimes the squeaky wheel doesn’t get greased, it gets replaced.
Corporate assistant here. I found discrepancies in the annual reports and the 10Ks. These were so obvious that I was amazed that not one of the board members or anyone in management or at the SEC picked up on them. We’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars difference between documents.
I never had three months of basic accounting (yes, I was tasked with managing a budget without any accounting training) so I’m not sure where you’re going with that.
