I don’t care at all that AD wanted out of NO, who can blame him, that franchise blows, but the way he and his ‘team’ went about it was pretty shitty. KLUTCH should be working for the player and in trying to manipulate the situation made one of their biggest assets the bad guy.
Albert’s abiding premise with his AD articles is that the pelicans aren’t a real team, their fans don’t matter, and AD is justified in quitting on them in the middle of the season, with over a year left on his contract, and destroying their leverage and ability to get fair value for him. It’s clear now that that…
There’s actually a much more serious question. In Miami, D-Wade stepped aside to be second banana to LeBron. Can LeBron mentally do that for AD, if he goes to the LakeShow, or will LeBron be Kobe 2.0?
No one has ever answered this
Jrue Holiday has to be one of the most underrated players in the NBA.
a simple trade request in private.
Stop trying to make this about Bill Simmons and Boston. I don’t like Boston and I dislike the Celtics even more. The fact is that I (a San Antonian who felt a little salty about Kawhi) and almost every New Orleans fan I ever talked weren’t upset when the first trade demand came out. In fact if you were to go to the…
I think a big difference between AD and Kareem is that AD went to the media with his request as well. Kareem did it in private and allowed the Bucks to make the best deal possible. By going public, AD put NO in a position of weakness when bargaining.
First off, the media didn’t ruin Carmelo Anthony’s reputation, he did that all on his own. Secondly, Bill Simmons talk of someone ruining their legacy is universally reserved for players that don’t force trades to Boston teams. Simmons never had an issue with Kevin Garnett forcing his way off the T-Wolves or Randy…
How are you not Simmons' equal in bullshit with your (continued) statements that the Pelicans are making a mockery out of a trade request by not trading a player they have under contract for another year?
“All Anthony Davis did was request a trade, something professional athletes, famous and less-famous ones, have been doing for decades in all the major sports of the world. It was neither an unprecedented move nor even a particularly ambitious on”
Right, but he is going to be traded, just on July 1st. This article acts like he’s some pariah. Pretty much everyone but deadspin and the pelicans have moved on and expect the trade in around 4 months.
I have no idea, but a cartoon dragon crushing two kids with his dong immediately became my favourite gif
I seriously wonder if Trout’s low public profile is mostly the result of his having a face so generic and unmemorable that the CIA has approached him for clandestine work.
artie moreno : *pulls flesh wallet out of fupa, removes $400 million* congrats mike
Not every race is going to be an interesting story for the ages. We’re lucky if we get 1 race like that per season in ANY series. Hell, the same’s true for most sports.
