Reads like someone who has never dealt with complex mental illness and/or had a parent who understood them to keep them stable in times of hardship. Seriously weird thing to dig at somebody for. Do what you gotta do to keep yourself functional as possible is my motto. Seems he’s doing that.

Coco blew my kids’ minds. We had discussions on the car ride home and the following days I didn’t expect for years and with my own grandmother’s loss a few years back it struck me hard. I honestly think it’s going to be one of the most rewatched animated films in our home once we can own it. I’m not sure what else I

I recommend listening to the intro remarks to today’s WTF podcast instead of going by this transcript. I don’t know that it would change how you feel at all, but I got a different feeling hearing Maron say these words this morning and reading them here all chopped up

I just relistened to Kirkman’s podcast where she discussed it and it STILL sounds like Louis CK to me. It doesn’t sound like Stanhope and I can’t think of who else it would be. And this “clarification” doesn’t really address the things she said on that podcast so much as what others have said since. So, I don’t know.

I agreed with a lot of this, but I have to admit my journals from youth are full of “leering comments” about the young men I was into, including my now fiance. I think it’s par for the course for many hormonal folk

Clicks. Even if they had been responsible it’s just a quick burn, not worthy of a slew of multi-paragraph articles. Someone who loved the show and this season could still make that bumper, as the writing is undeniably different.

Oh right, something nice. I really like the orange/black combo, because it’s my high school color combo.

I honestly cracked up laughing when she performed this on SNL. It’s so bad. I think it’s supposed to be so-bad-it’s-good, but it’s just cringeworthy. I’m a fan of Perry’s usually, but this just...misses the net.

That may have been Nabokov’s point. I mean he was attempting to make a central character that we found disgusting, even if the result was a beloved scamp in many people’s eyes.

I feel this way about my fiance and know he feels this way about me, eight years into our relationship. I can only hope that is still the case in another 10, 20, 30, 40 years. What a beautiful couple.

What I originally said was that she did not discuss masturbation in this interview. You replied with her talking about it elsewhere, but she did not discuss it here and so until I saw otherwise I was not going to speculate about it. Once you brought that evidence in it was discussed.

I meant based on what we have, as in clearly not full information, since we’re speculating, given the tone of the interview around this topic, I give the benefit of the doubt that she is not being negative about sex

Okay. So, she doesn’t masturbate. It’s really not our business to speculate critically, but not everyone gets the same thing out of sex and masturbation, not everyone has the same needs or desires. It doesn’t mean she is broken or has a flawed philosophy. I like ascribing “romantic” notions to things that are

It didn’t say she doesn’t masturbate. Like you said, sex itself isn’t magical, and if keeping her virginity until marriage is something she wants to do to add some existential magic to it that seems a-ok to me. It also doesn’t seem like she is judgmental about other people’s choices, so it’s not like she is out there

I like her too, although I haven’t seen her in anything comedic so it’s hard to tell

I guess. I can’t really think of a young superhero played by a teenager other than the new Spiderman though. And I would rather someone who could carry it

She is my top pick for Squirrel Girl. It’s my daughter’s favorite comic and I feel very attached to the outcome.

This one is better

I miss The Soup so much
