My father had a friend who was in charge of valet parking at a very nice country club in NJ. One day, the friend calls my dad and asks him if he wants to make a few bucks on the side parking cars for some big event at the club.

There is tipping to ensure good service, but tipping to ensure your car is not destroyed by people who are paid to safely park it without destroying it is not the same thing.

With American ingenuity and can-do spirit, that’s how.

You’ve obviously never been inside one of these old boats. Most have room for multiple orgies at once, and that’s just in the back seat.

Umm, a modern Chrysler 300 would be considered a midsize at best in the era of land yachts.

they never went into garages.... cars lived on the driveway... tools and porn lived in the garage (and probably at least one massive chest freezer too... and a washing mashine.. and a dryer... and at least 4 bmx’s)

Local brewery used about 8 window mounted ACs to keep their cold room, well cold. They also had the whole thing framed with 2x4s and drywall with a whole bunch of styrofoam sheet glued to the surfaces. Ate the cost of AC replacements for a few years until they could get a proper system, I think the owner said they

And a LOT of large vehicles including ships use ACs like this. You hit this nail on the head, there is nothing wrong with using an AC like this, and its likely an industrial ductless unit, not something you would find in a home.

Not to mention, the square footage it has to cool is likely similar to a small house. Seriously, that’s basically a non-issue. An AC is an AC in that regard. You get the one that’s appropriate for the application/has the thermal capacity you need.

a star for the fung wah bus reference;

Our hotel balcony opened up to one of the busier metro stops in a city that used these. I thought “oh great, we’ll be up all night listening to the damn trains at the station.” Even with the balcony windows open, these were quieter than the traffic on the street below. I was absolutely shocked.

A couple of issues.
