Different class of car entirely. One man's "gas guzzling automatic" is another man's bargain luxury autobahn cruiser. I like Subarus, but if this were my only car, it would be the AMG every time.

I bought an 06 two years ago. Beast of a car, in a good way. Bad ass car, looks are understated, very comfortable, hauls ass.
YES! On these w211 E55 and E63's, basically from 2003-2009, with 2007-2009 being the 63 model, (I had a 2007 E63 sedan.)
You can do a KW V2 swap for under 3k! There is a shop in so cal that would do that installed and all, take the codes out as well! I actually sold my E63 AMG back in Feb of 2013 because I was just…
Me too. I love these posts. This is what Jalopnik is supposed to be about. I think some of these people are confusing this site with Consumer Reports.
I have an S-Class with the same suspension. It's stupid easy to diagnose and relatively cheap to fix.
I'm getting real fucking sick and tired of it.
The upkeep is not much, so far the E55 has had less in service than my S500. It will likely need motor mounts and transmission mounts at this KM. broke one in half. Very easy to work on as well.
Que the whiners complaining about the maintenance even though they god damn know good and well its not the fucking point of the post.
Where did you hear that from? Its a 5.5 V8, regular oil change and that's about it for the maintenance. Nothing special about it, not like an E46 M3 where you have to have the valves manually adjusted with new shims after each 60k miles...
You speak too much truth! I own a 2006 CLS55 AMG, which is the same exact car with a different shell. Same frame, same motor, same suspension, same interior. I LOVE MY CAR. The torque on that bad boy is what makes all the difference. I had a supercharged E46 M3 and it had a lot of power up top, but this has the power…
Yes, these had Airmatic.
If you can only afford a Corolla, this car isn't for you.
Crocodiles are mighty expensive 'round these parts.
It's a great place to start.
That's never happened to date, and I doubt an E-Class would get it to happen.
Ya gotta pay to play! Understand that, and it's smooth sailing. Go in with a blind eye... Different story.
