You’re 100% right and it pisses me off that there are people in the comment section like, “What’s wrong with what she said??? It’s true???” Like are you tone deaf or....?

Haha exactly. It’s right there in your face.
Who are these jealous women you’re referring to? How do you know they’re jealous?
Do you not know how to read between the lines?
Or maybe we should view black men as a group of complex people with varying tastes.
Until every black man in the world tells her she’s beautiful, then YES it IS stereotyping. Also, if those particular black men are complimenting her, chances are she’s not the only big white woman they’ve complimented.
There is something to be said about black men who are attracted to white women that are plus sized, but it’s a stereotype nonetheless. I’ve seen plenty of black men make fun of plus sized women. Also, the way she said it made it seem like she only cares about black men when they’re giving her compliments. I was told…
It’s stereotyping. I know that there’s a fair share of black men who are attracted to big white women, but I can assure you that there are black men who wouldn’t look at this woman twice.
“All that said, ironically the collective over reaction to his comment is more damaging to women currently or dreaming to work in the sciences than his actual comment ever could have been by a factor of many.”
I see where she’s coming from. I just wish they would’ve given her a proper Indian name without making her stereotypical but Hollywood doesn’t care to do that.
I get that, but was this supposed to symbolize something? Like oh one day I’m gonna get killed but I’m gonna be remembered like Tupac? Cause if so...well...douchebag is too nice of a word for him at this point.
I don’t get it...
I won’t dispute that she got the role because she’s light skinned. I’m not sure if I can get behind the theory that Mindy would be less successful if she went by her real last name. If she can be this successful as a dark skinned, chubby Indian woman, then I don’t see how her last name would matter.
I was referring to their last names?
You’re kind of contradicting yourself. You’re against white actors being given POC roles, but you think making people play roles that match their racial/ethnic background is limiting? What’s limiting is the amount of POC on tv shows and movies. They’re whitewashing her role. Why not just make her a purely Indian…
tru tru
What’s also disturbing is that the character is supposed to be a half brown/half white character, hence the non-Indian last name. But Priyanka isn’t half white soooo....come on ABC.
Didn’t know that, but then again I hate spiders so I don’t know nor care about anything about them.
“The reason is that, as Christians, we believe marriage is not a human invention,”
I think it has to do with social repercussions. If Jimmy’s friends or male co-workers discover that he makes less money than his wife, they could make fun of him and call him “the wife” in the relationship, which emasculates him. Jimmy could tell his friends to fuck off but Jimmy cares about his reputation as a “real…
