I JUST bought what could be considered the Pilot’s closest competitor, the Odyssey (same platform, same damn dashboard) in EX trim and holy crap do you get a lot for that money in a much more practical package.
My guess is that they wanted to take the financial liability off their books. They ended up with this PR mess instead.
This is definitely what they should’ve done. And it’s not without precedent either. The Lexus LFA was the same, and I’m sure some other cars were as well.
So. Ford Flexed (hehe) quite a bit of legal muscle to enforce this moratorium on resale of these cars. However, they did zilch when a frightening number of dealers had the nads to ask more than fifty thousand American freedom tickets for a Focus RS?
