Agreed. Overstyled, to be sure, but not obnoxiously so like the Rx350.

    COTD, ladies and gentlemen.

    COTD

    Take the damn star.

Maybe Lexus doesn’t have a 7-liter V8 lying around, but they do have a lovely 4.8-liter V-10 that sounds even better.

Incorrect. Laguna Blue is the correct blue to have.

Likewise, this Volkswagen is faster than an F1 car—in a straight line (I assume, they don’t actually say).

Maybe. F1 cars are highly regulated, while Pikes Peak cars are notoriously open. In particular, downforce can be considerably greater. I would not be surprised at all if an unrestricted racing prototype can be faster than an F1 car (see Porsche 919 Tribute)

    Apparently 307 stars isn’t enough :(

Thanks everyone. How many stars do I need for COTD? :)

Gearing is what hurts the S2000 on the highway. The AP1 is some 4000rpm in 6th at 72 mph.

But without the door-mounted seatbelts. The Element had them at first. The front seat occupant must unbuckle to let the rear door open.

This should be called the Hissy Fit

With the right gearing, you can tow 5,500 lbs with a bicycle powered by an average human.

Who’s ‘we’? Are you an Indycar driver?

But then Bourdais shouldn’t benefit from it. He commited too much and that lane is there for cars at pit out. We don’t get to use the blend lane for racing: to do so would certainly cause contact.

It was clearly an illegal pass. He used more of the racing surface than is allowed: going over the blend line gave him a bigger arc through the turn. That was an advantage that others did not take. It’s a safety issue. The fact that he got pushed out after over-commiting is his own fault: he could have pulled off and

SVJim: perfect analogy. And sounds like a lot of fun.

True, but CA probably has such large sample sizes that represent an average amount of maintenance. I’d assume that the list represents cars that get to 200k affordably under average maintenance. You can get a Yugo to 200k if you spend enough money keeping it running.

Cool. Maybe in the Bodywork and Paint section, they will address “Repairing Bullet Holes and Missle Damage”
