Does anybody remember when the Expedition came out and Ford advertised it as the biggest vehicle in its class? Chevrolet ran an ad that showed an Expedition sitting on a lakebed next to a big pile of rocks. It said "The Ford Expedition is the biggest vehicle in its class". Then a giant, 100 foot tall Suburban…
@Jimmy Tango: Heart click from Wyoming. Why no avatar picture? It feels weird coming over to the Giz and being stripped of all my new found authority.
@Skydog: Did it have those awesome Turbo wheels on it?
@Mr. C: ...and Paul died in a street race. No, just kidding. He wasn't racing, he just didn't notice that the light had changed.
@oyumurtaci: It was in pretty bad shape, but the price still seems crazy low. My favorite thing about that car was the collection of NY inspection stickers on the windshield, expiring in Winter 1980. Kind of eerie/sad.
@tonyola: Ringo rolled around in a 600, too. Although only as a passenger, if I remember correctly.
@Smells_Homeless: Same here, but you've gotta go with the 400GT instead. Same car, but with a manual trans!
@JLebowski: Yeah, that's Ilulissat, which is the town mentioned and pictured in the *ahem* linked article. The same linked article you should probably read before you go making accusations of provinciality.
@$kaycog: Uh-oh. We'd better stop, then, before we break the whole internet.
@$kaycog: Really? That's awesome. Now I kind of want to change it to that for real. Or better yet, how about s¿¿¿n¿¿ ¿o¿¿¿.
It's been license plate week on Jalopnik, and 87CE 95PV isn't even here? It's not cool to be talking plates while he's gone.
@TrampaOnline: There's only 5 crazies in Texas and a half-dozen in Florida? That's not too bad! ;-)
@Triborough: I thought he was from Connecticut?
@$kaycog: License plate long and rectangle? Is that for his Au-ooh-di?
@SynthOno: That's why I bought mine! In refrigerator white, nonetheless!
@stöke, booth ho-fessional: Don't forget the air freshener.
@End User: How are they supposed to smash windows inwards while everybody's still inside the bus?
There are a lot of good choices on here, but I'd have to go with a W140 S430 or S500, preferably with smaller S280 or S320 wheels (for better curb-hopping). It's quick enough (you're not going to be running from the cops at 180mph), cheap enough to be disposable, and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
@philaDLJ: Nice choice. It deserves a posting of this clip.
