I think David spent a lot of time writing when he could have been wrenching.

No need for AWD. Just adds weight.
Yes, I do not approve of this “actually pretty good” funny business. This things looks rad through and through; no qualifiers necessary.
I love that Kia/Hyundai are so proactive about creating cars people want to see/drive. The Optima and the Sonata are two fantastic looking cars that helped both companies shed the korean econobox stigma they had before, but they continued moving forward instead of stagnating, and going with what is safe.
popular with me!
I was about to say the same thing about the bottom hinged pedal.
Oil isn’t going to be $5+/gallon for quite some time. The moment the price gets closer to $3-4/gallon, thousands of dormant shale producers come online because operating them is profitable at that price. They drive the price back down with the increased supply and then go dormant again. There’s plenty of shale oil…
I’m not sure why we continue to look for rational justification for anything Trump does, when it’s clear that his only motivation is sheer spite for the brown guy who previously held the office.
My 03 W8 Tiptronic Wagon is currently at 157,000 miles. It had some troubles, mostly from the lifetime fill transmission not getting it fluids changed until it had 80k on odo. That’s when I bought it in 09 for $6000! I bought an extended warranty from Ford of all places and it paid for itself almost immediately. Love…
I bought a 2001 for $600 and it has 135k knowing it had a ton of issues thankfully.
Congrats! Definitely a Unicorn Car. One thing to scare you though- the transmissions aren’t easily serviceable. Even the dealers don’t have any info/repair guides for them. Fortunately they share a whole bunch with the 911s.
Macan’s can’t tow more than 4,409, which is less than a race car and trailer, although its fine for some people who either don’t tow or pull a smaller boat.
The Cayenne can tow 7700 lbs.
Cayenne... with a stick!
I always thought SUVs had to be “settling” vehicles, but honestly the cayenne drives as well as a low end sports car, and better than most sports sedans. Sure its not 911, but we’re sold!
and seriously... the manual is a derivative of the 911. It doesn’t have a “Truck” like transmission like…
Weird reaction for me. Air Force veteran here, my job wasn’t security related, and I’ve read plenty of stories similar to this with little emotional response beyond “damn, that sucks.” This one, for whatever reason, got to me a lot more than most. I’m always dreading reading a name I recognize, but that day hasn’t…
It’s a great choice, especially that model year when the styling was less uhhh polarizing. That v6 is silky smooth too. Lexus in general gets far too much hate around here.
It was about 5:30 in the morning, pitch black out, pouring rain, and I’m on my way to college so I can beat DC Beltway traffic and do a little last minute review for a big electronics exam.
Wait, I thought most Jalops lamented the crossoverfication of all of our SUVS.?
