On your 335? Replace the valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket, both are likely shot fi you burn that much. The N54 and N55 don't burn oil unless something is wrong.

Oh sweet baby jesus. You're going to compare a truck engine whether it be the LSx, Coyote or Ram engine to what is basically a racing engine? (The engine utilized a different crank for a longer stroke in the Z4 GT3 and GTS, both race cars) A truck engine is made to rev to 6000rpm. Not 8400rpm. In an engine that spins

Good info. BMW does rip you off with batteries. IMO $2600 isn't that bad for a performance car over 4-6 years. It can be DIY'd in a few hours with $800 in parts if it was out of warranty. But it's worth it once you open the engine up, that thing absolutely screams.

Because it was done at the stealership. The parts are $800 for both of them. They're actually easy to DIY too, basically you need to take the intake manifold off, and they pretty much just come out with a few screws. A few hours to DIY at the most if you are mechanically inclined in the slightest bit. Over 30k miles,

Actually the E92 M3 is very reliable for a performance car. The only thing that really fails is the plastic gear in the throttle body assemblies. That is easily replaced though. My brother bought a 2011 M3 ZCP new and he's put 16k miles on it and has had zero problems with it. The only downside that I can think of is

Because who doesn't want a small V8 that revs to 8400 and has ITBs? TRACK DAY BRO.

I like the targa but I still think the GT3 looks better. IMO it's one of the best looking cars made in the past few years.

Exactly... I just prefer the way the ecoboost delivers power with the punchy low and mid range.

I like the ecoboost. I think people need to stop thinking it's an alternative to the GT. It's a solid alternative to the lazy V6 which historically hasn't been very fun. It's a better daily driver than the V6 from the midrange torque.

But that base 320i is $33k. A EX-L 4cyl accord with less power and torque starts at $31k and drives nothing like a sports car where as the 320i is somewhat closer just because of the RWD layout.

Well it's also not meant to be a sports car. The N20 in the 328i is actually pretty quick and the ZF 8 speed is terrific.

You're right, SMG was a 6-speed and the DCT has 7.

1. It's RWD.

Anyone else think the front and rear of the car just does't look aggressive like the M3?

From Wisconsin and traveled to new york to purchase my 335xi because I had a very specific package combination I was looking for. Sport, premium, cold weather, no iDrive and most importantly, a manual. Very tough to find with xDrive.

Still not officially a supercar until it spontaneously combusts bit itself.

One thing: 335i. 0-60 in 4.7 and 1/4 mile in low 13's in 2007. Only a matter of time before BMW makes the 335i (er 340i) have 360hp since the M3 is significantly faster now.
