I'm just gonna' watch FFXIII-2 on Youtube. I did enjoy FFXIII's story, even though I had to read most of it in the menu. I am curious to know what happens!
If Sony or the individual publishers are the ones in charge of selling the codes, I would gladly give them an extra $10, but if it's Gamestop and Best Buy 'exclusively' selling the codes, no way.

No, quite the opposite. I think the developers have just moved so far away from the series' origins. Not to compare two children, but Dragon Quest somehow still manages to thrive on its basic core elements and origins, Final Fantasy seems to throw away it's history with each new sequel in the main franchise.
