But if you buy an LS500 or a CLS, where are you going to put all the window stickers advertising your brand/political/gun loyalty?

I swear the rear window of trucks around here serve little purpose other than to ensure that the owners can safely be avoided in person as well as on the road.

Yes - many times (my father has a high trim F-150, and I’ve driven the Ram version a few times), and they make no sense. It’s not a luxury vehicle because it still rides like a truck. It’s not a work truck because you don’t want to damage the leather. They’re stupid.

Big trucks have their own appeal and can be fun in a different way, but by no means do the large trucks handle or drive even remotely as well as a proper luxury car or sport sedan. And unless you’re actively using that space and capability, you’re just dragging around thousands of pounds and multiple feet of dead

I’ve ridden in and driven a top-trim 2020 F350 and while it is a really nice truck, it’s a truck. It’s not a luxury car; it doesn’t ride like one or drive like one. Leather and cameras and features and all, it’s... well, it’s a truck.

A top trim pickup?

I guess just stop? I think the difference here is that a human would look around for cops, think “fuck it,” and drive past.

Auto journalists write factual articles about Elon Musk and Tesla.

Musk doesn’t sell any products, he sells hype. There’s a pretty big market for hype, but it’s got a shelf life. Better start delivering on some of these promises or eventually people will stop believing.

Well-spotted. These two bee-killing Trump-sucking fuckwads are THE WORST.

Worst?

Nah, they were both still married when they met. There were a lot of people invested in the fairy tale seeming nature of their previous marriages (Gwen and Gavin being a 90s power couple, Miranda crushed on Blake from afar.) Then they went on to be very public and extra about their relationship together.

Someone gets it.  “Slow” on something like a BRZ in Florida or LA is one thing.  “Slow” when you’re at 8500 ft and down 35% of that limited power sucks.  Now take something like the base crosstrek, add in that 1000 lbs, and whack 35-40% off the powerband...  and OUCH.

It may or may not be possible to test at elevation, but I think that’s critical. If not then test at max GVWR. It’s fine when a car can do 0-60 in 9 seconds with a driver and nothing else, but with 3 friends and their gear? Plus a roof rack? That’s where the bigger engine comes into play.

all i know is, i have a 20 impreza and live in los angeles county and it scrapes on shit every god damned day. you don’t have to go offroad to need the extra ground clearance. you just have to live in a crumbling city.

If you’ve experienced Northeastern city streets after an average winter, or I95 during summer construction season, the extra ground clearance can be most welcome, even without seeing any off road use.

So let’s lock all their guns in the trunk. Then make it so you have to enter a code to open the gun safe in the trunk. That automatically logs when and how long the gun was out of the safe. Or better yet, make’em send a signal back to home base and get approval before the safe can be unlocked.  Then every time a gun

You do realize you can sit around dreaming up any scenario that meets pro gun viewpoints without referencing the actual likelihood of those scenarios, or even if a cop whipping out a gun and blazing away would be the right response? Also, call SWAT, maintain a perimeter to keep people coming close to the danger, and

I was at a track day in April where some dipshit was ranting about how no one will want to be cops anymore if they can get sent to jail for killing someone. If any cop wants out because they’re held accountable for their actions, they shouldn’t have been cops in the first place.

Law enforcement continues to shit their pants any time someone does something even vaguely threatening.
