Comfort was a requirement as well though - and the more comfortable and easy to drive it is, the longer she’ll be able to drive it - which is an essential part of this purchase, I think

With that budget I’d get the IS350C instead. I own a 350C and have driven the 250C, the 350 is the one to get, no question. So much more fun, and holds its value better (may even go up).

Source: I used to sell Buicks.

I’m not sure paying a lease payment monthly (plus a down payment), none of which you’ll get back, is a better financial decision than buying an already depreciated car that you will be able to sell for about the same as you paid for it.

Eh, they put it in the header. It was the non-spoken recommendation.

IS250C is a really good idea that I forgot ever existed.

A Solara is much more comfortable, likely more reliable, and isn’t absolutely miserable to drive at over 30 MPH.

Its a convertible, its comfy, it will actually work, seems like a great suggestion.

Especially relative to an automatic Boxster, which will not be as reliable and in my experience driving a 6MT Boxster S (986 model iirc), they’re not really all that special feeling, at least at reasonable street driving levels.

I would go with the other suggestions to try and find the nicest Boxster you can find for the budget - a Porsche as their final car is pretty epic, even if it is the lowly but still excellent Boxster. If dependable luxury is more a thing then a Lexus IS250 IC

That’s a shitty situation, but it’s cool that you can do something enjoyable for her in the time she has left. There will probably be a lot of sensible suggestions, but how about this:

The estate will have to pay.

The best option, if it’s financially feasible, is to get a two year lease on a brand new Mustang Convertible. I can guarantee that the payments will be about the same as buying a car for $25K plus (not to sound insensitive), when she’s gone, Ford can just take the car back. No hassle in trying to sell and you can do

These shit-stains of humans need to find a new career path; say in public sanitation. Cleaning sewers. It’s a shitty job, but someone has to do it.

Really? They should ignore the very newsworthy incident where a car with no (apparent) human driver crashed into a tree and could not be extinguished for over four hours and instead only cover something like tire compounds? I’m not necessarily saying the tire article shouldn’t be a thing, even though the topic has

asshole Tesla stans

Holy shit, I think there was just a sudden eclipse in my part of the world.

You’re responding to an author who regularly has articles about obscure tail lights... Your point doesn’t land well here.

This site is also realistic that Teslas are good EVs. Bradley wrote an article about how good the Model Y is as an EV. Jason wrote an article attributing Tesla for removing the public’s stigma about electric vehicles and making them mainstream.

The reason we aggressively cover Tesla wrecks that appear to involve their semi-automated driving system, Autopilot, is because we’re at a fascinating transition point in automotive development, and these semi-autonomous systems are a new factor in how we as humans interact with our cars.”
