Exactly. These callers were on some illegal substance at the time of the call.

Fuck yes This

Anything that gets me away from having to endure the insufferable Sky F1 broadcast team is worth it in my book.

How the heck is this story being picked up by Jalopnik, but the much more juicy whistleblower story isn’t being covered by Gizmodo, and is reduced to a smol mention at the end of this article?

I’d love this to be real, but...

Now playing

I’ll buy a rusty Subaru Brat before I give a dime to far-right sociopath demagogue and white nationalist Elon Musk.

Nah I'll be dead.

These include poor handling and braking due to suspension designs, leaking and excess noise, vibration, and harshness

You mock now, but you’ll be wiping egg off your face while eating crow out of the other side of your mouth when the Cybertruck comes out in 2077!

An EV cycle would be perfect for me once the price drops under $10,000. My round trip commute is about 15 miles. I park inside a warehouse and my boss would not mind if I charged the bike while at work. I have asked him. I know there is the Sonders Metacycle but I want something with a little more pep.

Fucking hell... 1 hour to charge up to 95% for 90-120 mile range...

I have the same kind of issue with making that switch: for commuting, an EV motorcycle would be PERFECT - plenty of range to get me to and from work for a few days before I have to recharge, super easy in traffic, no heat to deal with...; but for having fun the ratio between “fun time” and “refeuling time” kills it - i

ICE engines run more efficiently at higher rpms. That’s why mfrs have gone to small four-cylinder engines that have greater volumetric efficiency vs running a big V8"

so there are two factors at play here: wind resistance and perception.

There is a lot of scholarly work on petromasculinity like this: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/0305829818775817

Aero is the biggest drag (literally) on EV bikes. Most bikes are actually much less aerodynamic than most cars, even though they have a much smaller frontal area.

On motorcycles it’s mostly aerodynamic related. On a fully faired bike you can tuck in and be more streamlined but on a naked (such as this review) your chest basically becomes a parachute at highway speeds creating lots of drag that needs to be overcome.  For example I can change the speed of my ZX14R by 10-15 mph

Petrosexual, I love it! I’m the kind of guy that works in the oil patch, but shows up in a hybrid. I’m totally borrowing that word for my bro-dozer driving coworkers.

Love the idea of electric bikes but the idea of a dead battery after 90 minutes of riding on a 500 pound, $20K motorcycle won’t get me off my Yamaha. I think the benchmark should be three hours, 400 pounds and $10K. I know that isn’t coming soon but hopefully at some point.

Comparing this to an SRX 600 is unfair. SRX 600 is dog slow.
