That story about Denis is so wonderful.
I felt that way about The Immigrant and his review of it.
Being a parent is an endless parade of sacrifices.

Ah yes, the girls who wave flags for the races like it's 1953.
Chai Chai Rodrihgweez!
Well, there's…Michelle Rodriguez…and the pretty girl with great hair who they don't let talk.
I'd argue Michelle Rodriguez is the main drag on that cast. She's a terrible actress with zero range.
Except it is in no way a bad movie. It's a full-on great movie - if you think it's "bad" that likely means you missed the satire completely.
I saw it originally in the now-gone Astor theater in NYC, which was a massive single screen theater. The crowd went absolutely apeshit.
I saw it with a couple friends the day it opened and we were all so blown away, that we went back the next day, bringing a bunch of people who didn't make the first screening.
It's Philosophy 101 for sure, but very few movies package their ideas, any ideas, with this level of panache.
"Why and what the reason for?"
Don't forget Rosa Klebb with those knife shoes!
I once sat next to Heigl and her "momager" at a cafe - they were both extremely rude to the staff, which made me believe all the awful stories about her. I think she's a difficult person to work with or be around in general.
That puppy's tongue is sooooooo wide!
Ok but Wheatley can be both visually incoherent and lazy, so I'm still suspicious of this whole approach.
I'm usually on board with Dowd but some points in this review give me serious pause, most notably: "a little visual confusion is in keeping with these gun-toting lunkheads".
High-Rise was almost unwatchable for me. I was genuinely shocked at how bad that movie was as I've liked some of Wheatley's other films.
