Staged or not, the Roadkill guys will do as they please. Even with the Hellkitties and the Viper, they still thrashed ‘em Roadkill-style.
Thank you. I watched one episode of Gas Monkey and it was enough.
Amen! They filled the hole that Top Gear didn’t: s*** cars built with leftovers and brand-new fancybits by gearheads who actually know how to use a wrench.
Except these guys know a bit about what actually happens under the hood. Not that I don’t enjoy Jennifer Clarkson, the Hamster, and Captain Slow.
Those blades are no joke. Used to work for the street maintenance crew in a suburb of Minneapolis, and the 2nd day on the job I was out doing cuts with a concrete saw. These things have 2 1/2’ blades that spin at 2700rpm. Long story short, the blade dropped out of the machine, spun for a couple seconds on the ground…
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the ‘Busa per se. It has more to do with a certain subculture revolving around Hayabusas with stretched swingarms, copious amounts of chrome, 300-section rears, straight pipes, hidden LED lights, bright paintjobs, and just about any other garish add-on that further reduces…
And that’s probably the best thing that ever happened to that bike.
It’s not that stoppies are inherently stupid. It has more to do with the time, place, and individuals who are doing them. I’m all for learning how to better and more effectively control your motorcycle, and most motorcyclists would likely agree. But, like anything, there’s a proper time and place, and it’s annoying…
NO NO NO. Apple tells YOU what YOU want in its products and YOU can’t change anything. You want that philosophy to transfer over to cars too?
Considering a MotoGP makes 250-260hp, I’d be inclined to agree.
Hoopdeedangdoo. What I’d like to see is Tom Sykes or Jonathan Rea ride one and tell us how good of a track bike it ACTUALLY is. Who gives a flying f*** how quick it is in a straight line against a Veyron? I mean, it’s cool that it’ll pull that ugly Italian-German bastard, but I bet you could find a turbo’d ‘Busa that…
It’s exactly why I have little-to-no interest in supercars. Right now, I can go on craigslist, find a used FZ1 with 120-130 rwhp for $3k and blow the doors off 99.99% of the cars on the road today. Cars<bikes everyday.
Shoot, may as well flip a coin.
The H2R isn’t road legal, so it’s not too much of an issue. In any case, you could argue that the vast majority of bikes making 100-120+ hp should require a special license, and to that end I would probably agree. I passed my bike test on a ‘78 Honda CB400T, hardly the same as doing it on virtually any modern…
I can’t even begin to describe how easy and unintimidating my ‘78 Honda CB400T was to work on, as well as to ride. I agree: UJMs are the way to go. I’m excited to see that the Big 4 seem to be making these sorts of bikes again too.
Hoohah! I’d love to ride a 650 with 97hp and a properly sorted suspension! What sort of work did it take to get there? I mean, that’s about a 30hp increase over stock, almost 50%!
“Leaked”...riiiiiiight.
Well, since you asked...no, this would not be a great bike for most new riders. Just because you did it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for other noobs.
Only downside is bikes made before 1980 are collectors and keep going up in price.
