Yup. I bought a switch on BotW launch day, that game stayed in my Switch until Mario release day, a few days latter BotW was back in the Switch until Kirby came out (which only took a few hours to beat but was still great - idc what ppl say).

IMO the controllers themselves are a major difference. If anything playing in handheld mode is very similar to playing on the Wii U pad.
