I`m so glad you guys talked about Mr. Emerson.  He was just heartbreakingly lovely, kind to the core, and his unconditional love of his son was the sweetest thing! And I want to go to Constantinople with the Miss Allens.

I get the feeling that in his own (unconscious) perception of himself, he never really moved beyond his teenage years. Just a guess. Perhaps (?) his actions weren’t malicious, but they were still very, very wrong and quite disturbing.
