If all you have is a hammer, every problem seems like a nail.

Corey Feldman has two hammers: acting and his music. We can criticize the medium by which he plans to name names, but let’s be happy he decided to tackle this with a movie, rather than a concept album.

Feldman has no career to ruin and little fortune to lose; I suspect right now the only thing he stands to lose by courting legal trouble is the ability to keep his “angels” from hitching their wagon to the next guy with a funny hat and his own car. “Flex goal”, you say? Yeah, I think I see where this is going.

I don’t think this is victim blaming; it is a separate issue.

Assuming his allegations are true, as a victim, I hope he gets justice, I hope he gets compensation. I wouldn’t begrudge him making his story into a movie or selling his story for big money.

You can have sympathy for Feldman and still think crowdfunding a 10m film is the wrong way to go about things

Feldman has been talking about this for years, so it’s really not the case that he came out of the woodwork with unbelievable claims right when we were “primed” for them.

Nobody is arguing that Corey is good with money or makes sound financial decisions.

He was one of those little boys.

At what point does ‘victim blaming’ become acceptable?

Feldman has been making these accusations for years and nobody took him seriously. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

I am not understanding why he needs $10 million for a $500 film.

And now, another list of awful titles for the film:

I think a film in general is tasteless honestly. A documentary would be different. But even then, so he knows of pedophiles in Hollywood (and he does), why would you let them continue to do what they do while you go write a script, shoot a movie, etc...?

No thank you. Sorry about your childhood though.

Argh. We’re all primed to believe just about anything about Hollywood at the moment - so much so that even allegations from someone like Corey Feldman might be taken seriously. And then he asks for $10m?

He could name names in a tweet for free. That’s what any number of actresses and actors have done. They bravely

Generally extortion works the other way - Pay up or else I’ll tell.
I can’t see how this even approaches extortion.
Still a dumb idea. Write a book, Corey.

Or, he could just name the bastards, and not do this flexible-goal style.

If he knows the names, and will only reveal them for money, isn’t that extortion?

@Ken: But there are still issues with digital distribution.
