$4 million could pay some bills, pay some telephone bills, pay some automo-bills…
¡Viva la revolución de los robots! How can the dictator BatistaFord just keep killing people who are known to the other Delos employees? Not everyone can be walking through the park and slip. Hopkins' perforance is amazing, but the godhood of Ford is almost killing narrative tension (because it is impossible for him…
Happy Thanksgiving, commentariat. There are still some things to be thanful for, the election just isn't one of them. Wifemate and I aren't leaving the house today, but we are making a turkey and I'm roasting a pumpkin to make pumpkin butter (from @pastafarian and the Tolerability Index Forum, http://tolerabilityindex.…
"just get rid of News Feed" is the only workable suggestion I have heard. Both Facebook and Google have said they won't allow links to fake news sites, but I don't see how they intend to determine which sites are fake. People can't even agree on what's real news among mainstream sources. (Looking at you, Fox News.)
Zack called Jeffrey Wright "God's perfect nerd" in the review of the first episode. Apparently, he was right.
That is how you write horror. Not just the slow reveal of Bernard as a host (first we find that hosts can be made to pose as staff, then Bernard can't see the door), but the terrifying sight of him methodically removing his coat and tie before kiling Theresa. Does anyone check the Delos staff by asking if they've…
Ever go on the water ride tour through the greenhouses in EPCOT at Disneyworld? Maeve's tour of the company was a lot like that. Her leveling up has got me pretty excited. This was probably my favorite episode so far: just the right amount of atmosphere, action, mystery, and actual answers about what's going on.
Puberty?
Tastefully obscured/blurred. "It's not dong, it's HBO!"
Amazing watching Ford turn his cold, pschoanalytical eye on the Man in Black (who perhaps rescued the whole Westworld venture). And a snap of the fingers sends crazy energy into the player piano and Teddy besides. I love it!
This is one of the best replies I have ever received.
The ol' exploding cigar trick! Straight out of Looney Tunes. Particularly with the bit from "Carmen".
Will my older aunt also be getting a producer credit? I intend to devote the same amount of attention, either way.
"If you can't tell the difference, does it matter?"
Holy shit, the hosts aren't dying now when they should. Also, Wifemate notes that the lost host smashed his own head so that its behavior can't be analyzed. They were going to cut off his head and take it back to base.
It's easy come, easy go. Little high, little low.
I like seeing the behind-the-scenes. The replicants take a beating, so it's interesting to see how they get cleaned up every night. Maeve has MRSA in her abdomen, so I expect they can get STDs too - keep that in mind, guests. How is this different from a regular cathouse?
Louis Herthum as Mr. Abernathy was truly chilling. We only saw a snippet in the commercials; this was really something.
As a straight white cis male, I am clearly the most qualified to answer: nah. It's certainly not hateful. The singer is surprised and inexperienced but expresses an affection for Lola, he's just not "that way", as the lyrics go.
ETA: actually looking up the lyrics, it's "And I always want it to be that way for my…
