I think it’s true. A number of the contestants have said the same—they were upset, and nobody had to see it because Mel or Sue cursed or sang or did a weird little dance to make the footage unusable. They’re total mensches.

That seems odd about the producers. What works about the show is all the personal struggles the bakers have. As a viewer, the show is an oasis from all the other stupid, backstabbing reality shows.
