Seems more like someone is seeing their post as an effort to score enlightenment points when someone else might not see it that way. Or how about writing a blog about not writing a blog about not reading books by white men. How meta is that!?

There’s a world of difference between reading a good book by an author who happens to be a woman of color, telling people about that book and recommending it to others; and publicly proclaiming your intention to avoid books by straight white men to score enlightenment points.

Talk about the books those women wrote. What you enjoyed about them. What you disliked about them. Recommend their books to other people. Start book clubs that feature them.
