It’s not, and the fact that it got by what I’m assuming is dozens of people prior to publishing breaks my already shriveled English teacher heart.

Any relation to James's inner goddess?? I'm a 9th grade English teacher, and half if ny kids write better than that--not because they're all talented writing prodigies, but because they've at least been taught how to use a comma and proper punctuation (even if they only choose to use that knowledge 1/3rd of the time).
Literally the only reason I know anything about the plot of the 50 Shades series. She read them so the rest of us don't have to.
What’s shocking is how the sentence fragment at the start of the paragraph and other glaring grammatical errors in that excerpt made it past an editor, but maybe I’m giving her publishers too much credit in assuming anyone there actually read what they publish and market. I don’t think I could ever read James’s crap…
That's one I wasn't familiar with, but after a quick Google, I can see how any collab with an alt-right dumpster fire of that caliber is not a good look.
Yes. Being a WOC, his posts were just so rage inducing along with all of his sycophants in the comments shouting us down.
He was the resident “male feminist” writer here for a while. Absolute abusive piece of shit who carried in sexual relations with his students and then some: https://www.lamag.com/longform/the-hugo-problem/
Do we expect every Jez author who wrote for the site at the same time as Hugo Schwyzer to have quit writing . . . people in glass houses and all that.
Ugh, white people are the worst...
I hoped to be a mechanical engineer and after that didn't pan work for the EPA. I ended up a teacher and an academic interventionist. I always push my kids to to better than they think they can and rise to the occasion. I also help them learn from the mistakes I made and try to make their paths easier by explaining…
My FIL had a quadruple bypass and stents put in 4 years ago. He’s not even 60 yet. After a year of being rather weak, and another of limited activity, he’s doing pretty much 100% better. A better diet has helped, of course. He was never overweight, but he ate fast food once a day and drank multiple energy drinks per…
“La mala yerba nunca muere."
We have a saying in Spanish that roughly translates to "weeds (bad herb, if you want to transliterate) never die". It applies to evil people who seem to live forever.
Huh, makes some sense. Though wouldn't that just make it worse for people to get the flu shot since it rarely covers most of the flu viruses in a given season?
I’m a teacher so I pretty much never refuse a vaccine. I didn’t get the shot for a few years mostly just because I was going to the doctor less often, so it just didn’t come up. This year I needed a TB test for work and it coincided with the big flu vaccine push right before flu season. There were a few people showing…
My guess is I always somehow catch a strain not covered by the vaccine, but it's irritating to have such bad luck about it when I do really want to just get vaccinated and not worry like I have for everything else they invented vaccines to prevent.
I want to agree with you, but my totally not at all scientific anecdata states that I only get a dangerously bad flu when I actually get the shot. I wish I knew why since correlation=/=causation, and I logically know the flu shot isn’t why I get such severe symptoms.
Not mention that many of the celebs in question either acted in a Marvel venture or are heavily tied to comic/geek culture . . . Mark Hamill, Kevin Smith, pretty much everyone who has a lead MCU role all posted pictures (Hugh Jackman, Tom Hardy, Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr, and more). It seems odd to criticize…
All of my bras are UK brands since that’s the only way to find my size. Target is still a favorite for underwear though.
This is how I feel. They're large enough that clothes shopping sucks and anything with a neckline below the clavicle can be "scandalous" cleavage territory, but it definitely doesn't look like a shoved two balloons into my shirt or anything like some of the comical boob jobs I've seen.
