While the MLK holiday debacle is an example, it's not the next most recent example of civil rights violations in the state. SB 1070 passed just this decade and caused a shit storm. Thw state is where civil rights go to die.

I commute to CSUN from about 40 minutes away. My advice? Get a place near school. Even though it might be more suburban than you like, LA proper and most urban destinations aren't far off when you feel like being in the city. Plus living in LA is needlessly expensive so you'd be saving both time and money living near

Thanks for the warning. Will ignore in the future ;)

Not ignorant. Fully aware of those and not taking part in the oppression Olympics, thanks. The existence of sexism in other cultures doesn't negate the racism in that of the US. If anything they are two very difficult issues ingrained into tge effected societies that must be highlighted and fought against.

And yet to this day there are still laws designed to keep POC and other minorities from voting. Not to mention the Voting Rights Act didn't pass until the 1960s, so men and women of color were both blocked from equal access to voting rights despite having the right to vote. Maybe you should check your own racist

Love that article and completely agree.

Yup. It's like people genuinely believe that certain celebrities are able to get anyone they want when they want, because you'd have to be blind to say no or something. It's gross.

Sounds about the same. Most of ON clothing was made is Pakistan, Bangladesh, Honduras, and El Salvador.

It was. Worst 2 years of my life. I should have never gone back after the first time I worked there but I didn't think it coukd get as bad as it did.

Sources? Not claiming they're perfect but I haven't seen much on that aspect in regards to Costco, I'd love to be more informed. Gap Inc. however has a lengthy history of working with sweat shops and horrible international policies.

I think it had a lot to do with proximity to corporate headquarters. I've been personally told by several execs to wear more ON clothes at work. Supposedly, I was a legend at headquarters for my denim displays (between 2011 and 2012, I personally did all the displays for company flyers and promotions). I worked

They only offer benefits to full time employees, and those are all supervisor or manager positions. I worked 35-65 hours a week average my last year there and didn't qualify for benefits, sick leave, or paid time off...

Costco? They start at $11 (might be $12 now), give regular raises and extend health, dental, 401k, and life insurance benefits to part timers after 6 months. Not to mention free membership with 2% cash back. My husband topped at $50k a year as a regular full time employee and he was still due for another raise aside

So I'm about to rain on the parade a bit here...

My waist is literally right under my boobs. Anything lower than high rise gaps for me. Of course now im worried the waist to hip ratio on most jeans might not work, but I'm optimistic that my crack won't be exposed everytime I bend down.

I don't run (bad knees) but listen to slipknot while in the stationary bike and try to keep up with the drum track. It's exhausting but fun.

Wtf? Really the onky response I can muster without devolving to pure rage.

I just loved the simple cardboard box. Cheap and full of possibilities.

Growing up, I built houses and furniture for my dolls from whatever I had lying around (shoeboxes mostly). I loved "inventing" things for my dolls. Imagination is key in STEM. But even then, breaking into the field is tough. I was a mechanical engineering major when I started out. I switched because I was a year or

So we considered that, but my mental health can't handle it. We've been apart before and I almost died. I don't have any friends where we were living. Most of my friends are where I am now. We just need to get out of that house.
