Couldn’t have said it better myself, started supporting this team a few years ago and damn if the club doesn’t try as hard as possible to drive away support with the constant turmoil and rampant assholery.

I think this highlights a different problem than intended: if we all agree that gender is not, in fact, truly binary (a perspective I think which is uniformly held on this site), then how do you square that with competitions such as this sort of sport which have a pure binary division (i.e. “male”/”female”)?
