So as far as I can tell, the only “scam” involved in curbstoning is pretending to be the retail owner of the car rather than a dealer. If the guy was upfront about the fact that he was flipping cars, where’s the scam? There’s nothing wrong in and of itself with selling stuff as a source of income.

I would love to know how many female GTI customers VW got, because other dealers from various brands were sexist assholes.

I’ve had the same exact experience as Katie. I even walked out with an ‘07 GTi as a result. I’m on my second MkV GTi as an indirect result of the whole sexist experience.

That dealership sucks so much ass. They were also the ones marking up F80/2s by $20k (putting them well over the 6-figure mark).
