Right?! This isn’t about creating docile housewives that do everything, this is about doing for one’s self.

Of course women don’t need to cook to feed men, but they need to cook to feed themselves. I have sisters and a brother, and we all got the same answers when whining as children that we didn’t need to know something (cooking, cleaning, doing dishes ... ): “You need to know how to do this for when you’re a grown-up.” Or,

... Everyone needs to know how to cook. What kind of jerk would give you a hard time about it? Unless you have a son who you’re militantly NOT teaching to cook, of course. (I assume this is not the case, because you seem like a reasonable human).

My mother never taught me how to cook. When I got older and I asked her why, she said I never seemed interested, which is true. But I was never interested in laundry or mopping or cleaning bathrooms, either, but she made me do all that shit.

It really is a great way to save a ton of money, all while eating incredibly well.

People give you grief for teaching your children a necessary life skill? Oy.

I used to always respond to the phrase “I don’t believe in credit cards” with “I assure you they exist” until I realized what an insufferable buttfuck that made me.

I’m the opposite and never quite understood people who don’t cook! And I live in NYC where there are a lot of folks like that 😊. Food is just too important to me. Ordering out/going out all the time would just...stress me out. You’re always foraging for food, being dependent on others to feed yourself. But to

Me when I hear Fox isn’t using all of their resources to try to revive the OC:

Trump is going to win so easily in 2020.

Eh, I understand what they’re saying but they seem like they’re laying this at the feet of people like Chelsea, which is crazy. It also seems like they’re opportunists too. They saw someone who was famous and knew that confronting her would get a lot of attention, so they went for it.

I’m so sorry.

I just watched Shrill. I really wanted to like it but as a person of color, I thought it odd that every person of color on the show was dating or sleeping with a white person. The hook up with Fran’s brother also felt kind of shoehorned in and seemed to play into a whole other set of stereotypes about black men and

This really shocks me to my core...sometimes you really think Geno a person.

As someone who works in abortion providing clinics, I read that as Lindy clunkily admitting that her white privilege carried a lot of water in her interaction over the phone. People who cannot pay for their abortions are obviously super low income; in many places those folks are people of color. People of color

With six half hour episodes, sign up for the free trial week, binge watch them in one sitting, then cancel. I did! <3 :)

They show doesn’t really get into that, but there are at least a couple times when the “Lindy” character gets called out for being very self-centered.

Planned Parenthood does this for everyone.  It’s one of the things that makes them great.  You talk with a financial counselor and work out how much you can afford and when you can pay it.

Beto... I know you think we all want another Obama, except white this time.

I imagine it’s easier to pull this off when your opponent is a republican gremlin who only eats butter.
