Black Hat guy is kind of intentionally as difficult and asshole-ish as possible. The tone of this Tumblr is more crazy and incoherent than Black Hat guy usually is.

It's interesting to see some of the more well known Japanese game designers slowly peel off from the giant developers and do their own thing. Keiji Inafune, Yasumi Matsuno is kinda bouncing around from developer to developer (not unlike Ron Gilbert), and now Koji Igarashi.
You just blew my mind.
Also, I take it back, they're not even that much like XKCD. They aren't trying to be mathematical/scientific, nor are they complaining about how social interactions aren't as logical and rational as they could be.
Most of these are much better than XCKD has been the past couple of years.
No?
Accurate or not, "lack of JRPG popularity" seems to also be in the heads of Japanese publishers, since so many JRPGs almost don't get released in the North America.
I remember this confused people online for a while, because they're both clones of Big Boss who has grey hair (so his hair colour was unknown until you see him in MGS3). So they're both clones of Big Boss, but one of them has blonde hair (Liquid) and one of them has brown hair (Solid). Except then there's this…
My point is that Tales has been a pretty popular series as of late, and even some of its more popular entries don't do much better than a million worldwide. Compared to Tales, Bravely Default is more of an unknown to most regular consumers (there's nothing on the box that explicitly says "THIS IS BASICALLY A FINAL…
I'm guessing that "millions" is probably pushing it, for a JRPG that isn't part of a pre-existing series. Hell, I just looked it up, and I'm not even sure Tales of Vesperia (a popular game by many accounts) sold much more than a million. It sounds like (in Japan) it sold 205,000 on 360 and 450,000 on PS3. So 655,000…
The demo is intentionally storyless, and exists pretty much just to show you the look of the game, and how the combat system works. It throws a lot of mechanics at you the second you leave the town, while the full game rolls those tutorials out at a more reasonable pace. The side quests/quests in the main game are…
I'm pretty sure there's that weird VHS prologue you can watch in MGS1 that takes place on the submarine shortly after they pick Solid Snake up from his cabin, and they basically say "Hey, this Liquid guy looks a lot like you, weird, so how about we give you a haircut and a bandana so nobody gets confused". Which still…
Yeah, MGS1 has by far the coolest sneaking suit, and I think it's the best iteration of Snake as a character. Hell, Snake barely got any character development in MGS2 since the game was so busy trying to convince us that we gave a shit about Raiden/Jack and all of his Rose/child soldier bullshit. MGS1 and 4 are the…
I'm pretty sure you can't just freely make money off of a product that uses the likeness of somebody unless you get their permission (or at least, celebrities are notable enough for their faces that you can make this case, not sure if it applies to random people). Unless the work is a parody (which most countries…
Same, except except replace 768 with 384. Got there once early on in the first few days, and I've done much worse since then. Constantly get 1-2 192s that I never match up. I find I get bored of the game rather quickly.
Yeah, I liked Gabe's art better in the 2000s. At the very beginning the art was super crummy (~1998-2000), and ~2010-2014 he's been doing this weird chipmunk thing with some of the characters' teeth, but I like how he drew the characters in between those periods.
Oh man, I skipped like half of the tower dungeon (7th one) in Link's Awakening. I played that game like 3 or 4 times when I was like 10, and I had basically figured out a path where I never got the Compass or Stone Beak in the tower, but just beelined for the boss basically. The switch puzzles in that dungeon were a…
I have never heard of someone having trouble with that until today.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
Is Aaron Blair secretly Paul Giamatti with hair?
