It’s not really a bug it’s lag, if you are lagging at all or have a batch connection match then there will be a delay on the pickups. You actually may be picking them up on the first run over, however there might be a delay that makes it seem like it is picking up on the second run over.
There was a developer who did something similar just recently, I think the game may still be in Greenlight.
