Trespassing and taunting do not, but if the kids were threatening violence or made the man believe violence was going to occur that is assault. If they actually made physical contact with him, that is also assault and legally the man is allowed to defend himself. That does not make what he did MORALLY right by any

I tend to agree with you, kids being kids... I’m sure they were acting up. But I would expect a grown ass man to be able to walk away from a confrontation and not escalate it. If the kids were acting up or were being aggressive... call the police.

No, you are just reading that wrong. The incident began when he yelled at the kids to get out of the road. This lead to the verbal argument between him and the kids, and then he states they came onto his property and he defended himself.

It’s like fear completely controls most cops, fear makes you do things like that... protect your life 100% of the time by not taking any risks. IE your scenario with a knife wielding man. I also think training or lack thereof has a part to play in this, you always see police officers training at the gun range with

But didn’t the yankees meet the mandate? They just didn’t extend the netting into the outfield? Never been to yankee stadium nor do I follow baseball all that much, the article made it sound like they did do the mandated safety netting but then chose not to do what was “recommended” by the commissioner

Yeah they will probably be covered liability wise, but I would be very surprised if the Yankees did not extend some sort of payment to the family just out of good will. Or maybe some free season tickets in a box or something like that... signed baseball bat or signed jerseys... those are things that will ultimately

Agreed, but I will say that when sitting on the foul line, always put yourself between the child and home base. Still won’t keep a freak accident like this from occurring but at least there is a slightly better chance of the child being protected. Let me clarify that I’m not blaming the grandparents for what occurred,

It is not an earned reputation asshole, it is a stereotype propagated by the media. Most of whom have never actually been down here or taken the time to talk to the average person.

I did not vote for Trump, I voted third party because I did not trust Hillary Clinton at all. She seems like a snake in the grass and part of the Elite class that I can’t stand. She is a career politician and that’s the only thing she cares about, maintaining power and the status of the Clinton name, not in serving

Agreed, I am seeing some of the rural cities/counties becoming more progressive though. Like Monroeville, Alabama I visit friends there frequently and it’s much different than it was in the early 90's.

You are so ridiculous, how do you know... what you don’t know? For instance were you just born with the innate ability to understand say Calculus? Would you have even known to google how to find the derivative of an equation? No you wouldn’t

“Supporting a racist makes you racist.” No not really, it’s that people were given a choice between a turd sandwich and a giant douche(to quote south park). People were forced to pick the lesser of two evils. I would think you would know this... people voted for Trump because they agreed with his message more than

Not totally disagreeing with you there, but one has intentional hate driving it, the other is something that is a product of our poor public education system and therefore not 100% their fault. But even with that said they should care more about educating themselves.

Huntsville is a very nice area, much like Mobile. Come down and visit Mobile during Mardi Gras, specifically Joe Cain Sunday. I think you would have a good time here and meet some good people. Now the backwoods cities in Alabama... those can still have some issues. They are just stuck in the past but with highspeed

Mobile has the same issues with racism that most every city in the Nation does. Racism is not regulated to only the Southern States, nor am I trying to claim there are no racists in Mobile. But the stereotypes applied to the South are just that, stereotypes that hold true to some but not all. I wouldn’t even say it

I’m a cynic as well, but the only reason I think the way I do is because I’ve grown up in this area my entire life(Mobile, Alabama) which is not far from Robertsdale. As soon as I saw the girls in the photo I was like “oh, they are idiots” then when I realized they were playing Spanish Fort in football it clicked.

No it’s not, and if you think it is you’ve clearly never been here. Just because people voted for Trump does not make them racist, nor does it make them idiots. It means that between the candidates running, they thought Trump was the better option. Simple as that, now if you want lump all Trump voters together as

It’s the same message although it is very dumb, they associated “Spanish” with “Mexican” which we all know Trump’s view... so while it is fair to be outraged about this photo, think less “hate” and more “ignorance” from these girls.

As a Mobile native of 27 years, what is your problem with Mobile specifically? The people here are just as nice as many other large cities in the state.... Montgomery is very nice.... Birmingham is alright, crime is high and the surrounding cities are full of the “you know who my dad is?” types so that’s the only

Racist people live everywhere, and before you talk shit about my home state why not actually come down for a visit instead of believing what you see on the tv or read on the internet. Come down and meet the people of Mobile, Alabama I think you would be pretty surprised at just how nice people are here and that
