I don’t think it’s coincidence that the corrupt cop at the center of this is a Black corrupt cop who killed two white suspects on trumped-up warrants in a Breonna Taylor-style no-knock raid.

It’s worth remembering that this is the incident that brought down Goines and put all of his past convictions under the magnifying glass:

So excited to see Happy Scale mentioned. I have a tendency to get unhealthily fixated on metrics (which is why I avoid most calorie counting) and I also have GI conditions that cause large swings in weight from day-to-day. This little app saved my sanity. I can weigh daily with my BT scale and completely ignore whateve

Thank GOD that Scarlett got her justice. Could hardly sleep over this, personally.

I live in a multifamily complex at the far end of a street lined with well-appointed homes that give out full-size candy bars.

At age 60 my mom started WW Online and got to her goal weight. Her friends who didn’t see her regularly responded mostly with concern and a few asked cautiously if she had cancer or something.

I would add: Recalibrate your sense of appropriate portion size.

Emus. You know it’s on the list because somebody tried it…

I saw the title and thought for a sec that Google had made a grocery acquisition a la Amazon and Whole Foods…

Now, now, that’s Steve Coogan from Hamlet 2.

Maybe make a ginger syrup with it? Then you could add it to sparkling water and/or cocktails.

Wouldn’t a better name be the Shirley Temple Black?

Right?! Play safe or not at all.

Whither Das Boot Director’s Cut?

Acceptance or solicitation of letters would not be proof by itself of an individual claim of discrimination (same with a photo in a job application), but it could support one if there were other evidence. Why allow that possibility? What aspects would a seller be hoping to learn about a buyer that can’t be elicited in

Aren’t we talking about a widespread ban of the letters, though, or at least guidance against, by the National Association of Realtors? I’m not making any claims at all about individuals. Job (and housing) discrimination suits are difficult to win precisely because there are a lot of variables affecting the outcome,

The entire roast is available on Paramount+ (which I don’t have, but YMMV).

This is similar to including photos with resumes. Doesn’t lead to discrimination every time it happens, but in the aggregate there is a distinct disparate impact. Better to just skip it.

Nope! It’s a drawer-style freezer and something in the top compartment had knocked the sensor out of place when I opened the door. It was measuring too much of the ambient temperature of the freezer itself and thought the new ice was colder than it was. Snapped the sensor back into place and presto.

I had an issue with my ice maker doing something similar, and the problem turned out to be with the sensor that measured whether the new ice was fully frozen before it was dumped out into the bucket. So it would come out still slightly damp (and then later on, in my case, fully watery) and freeze itself on to the
