IME it would encourage an even bigger clusterfuck at the school as everyone drives their child down there and tries to park. In our local school district they sent a letter home with a kid who rides his bike to school stating that that was unacceptable behavior and that he either needed to ride the bus or be dropped…

This is completely orthogonal to the reason for existence of public schools. Might as well just abolish the school district and those who can pay get schooling and those who don’t, well, maybe they can go work in factories for 12 hours a day. Might as well get some use out of the poor, right?
