Because a 295X2 is still really hard to dethrone for balls-out performance.

It does require games to support dual graphics for maximum performance, but so would two 980s and they would cost WAY more than a 295X2.

Performance wise the 295X2 beats out the 980 and the titan X i think.

The 295X2 is the most powerful video card on the market, it even outperforms the Titan X.
