Auto dimming side view mirrors are also fantastic... especially heated.

It seems like the deep south and a scattering of other places don’t require it, but most places to. I wonder if there is some kind of correlation between stricter safety requirements (i.e. state inspection) and requiring a front plate?

Yup, if you don’t stand up some jerk will take your space.

Also, the other thing: people behind you will not stop to let you get up and get out and get your stuff. If there’s an opening, the folks behind you will take it and keep on moving.

Also, by getting up, it allows the people in the middle/window seat some extra space, to gather their stuff, get organized, etc.

Sitting in your seat and waiting until the proper time is definitely the right thing to do.

I get that, especially among developing technologies, competition like this is good, without it the industry would stagnate and we’d be left with a worse product.

THIS. Jesus man, he wasn’t even the right guy for the interview and it was pretty clear from his incredibly non-committal phrasing. Just because you design the fuel pumps and fuel lines doesn’t mean you know a damn thing about the combustion processes and how the engine management system handles the variables.

Yes. Kind of makes the article pointless. And it never does answer

Holy hand-waving, Batman. Why didn’t the guy just say “I don’t know”?

High-octane fuel does not magically have more energy in it, it can just be compressed more before self-igniting. If an engine is designed for regular, then it doesn’t have enough compression to take advantage of that.

No. Higher octane fuel will not give you more power on a stock car. The ECU can advance or delay timing to prevent knocking but it’s not like it magically reads the octane on the fuel and decide to give your engine more power

Many people feel some anxiety about how their body will be treated, post-death. And not without cause.

Sure it is. Just like baldness is a hair color.

That’s not flying, that’s falling with style.

quick, someone get this guy a safe space

I was so happy for the guy until I saw this. Fuck Ryan. I hope he fell of the stage afterwards.
