LL Bean is as far from Silicon Valley as you can get, that’s what perplexes me...

Sorry for the confusion, I meant a mar’s (distance from sun) orbit, not an orbit around mars.

Am I the only one that wonders if “Exceeded Mars orbit and kept going” might actually mean... oops we burned too long, or oops we had the trajectory a little off?

Musk mentioned adding a couple boosters to match the Saturn V, so theoretically yes?

They still show up every day for me, today’s:

You seem to have some better knowledge on MRIs than me - are there permanent magnets, or only electro magnets in them?

Non-magnetic materials can indeed interact with magnetic fields to produce forces. Try and drop a neodymium magnet through a copper pipe and it will slow down significantly.

I know nothing about you, and I also consider you better than Trump in most ways. You made more sense in one comment on Gizmodo than any tweet I have seen from the POTUS.

On average 36,000 people die from the flu each year in the USA, but the actual annual number ranges from 3,300 to 49,000 (the highest average was between 2003-2004, the lowest was in 1986-1987)... those were reported numbers from the CDC in 2010. The 2011-2012 season was down to 12,000 deaths. According to this

I played in the coves of Maine every summer of my life, my parents had a summer cottage there. I could have told them that 25 years ago, as I am sure most anyone that lived on a rocky coast.

I think you may have misread that quote ... Tide may have over-estimated the intelligence of the great masses, assuming they would be smart enough to read the warnings, or just know that soap isn’t food.

Why are you commenting on an article that is 8 months old? The conversation is dead, but since you want to re-ignite it...

Counterpoint: Most everywhere I have driven in the USA, the roads are usually back to pavement within 24 hours. While the winter tires will give some marginal improvement in cold temperatures on asphalt it isn’t worth getting winter tires for the few bad driving days each year.

As someone who works in vehicle manufacturing, I can tell you not to worry about fatiguing the spring. The system is designed so that the spring is not over-stretched and will return and provide the same amount of force.

I bet Mr. Wozniak would take issue with that.

They offer this with Youtube Red, they know you want it and hope your willing to pay for it.
