I tried fakespot on a number of products I like from Amazon (including winners of Gizmodo popular product votes) and I don’t think it works well. I think they are just out to generate traffic for their own website and get you to put in an extension that tracks your shopping.

You could take the freedom panels off and do it, but on the new Wranglers you need to disassemble half the Jeep to fold the thing down now. I miss my CJ that only had two thumb screws and no massive roll cage to contend with.

Cars have been hit, so we know - the metal structure of the car acts as a faraday cage and protects everything in the car (electronics, people, and gasoline). The Tesla would be fine too - if it hadn’t been plugged in. Plugging in the car allowed the power surge to enter the electronics I imagine.

All cars in the 80’s had speedometers that only went to 85mph - there was a regulation requiring it. Some study said if the speedometer didn’t go very high then people wouldn’t be tempted to drive faster than the gauge could read.
