Microsoft and Apple have been unfriendly competitors for a long time. I imagine that Microsoft wants to serve it’s own ecosystem first and Apple users last (and considering its a free app, it is only done to lure you towards their side of the force)
All cars in the 80’s had speedometers that only went to 85mph - there was a regulation requiring it. Some study said if the speedometer didn’t go very high then people wouldn’t be tempted to drive faster than the gauge could read.

I went to College in Boston, and scrolled down just to make sure that monstrosity was posted. I might as well point out Beatty Hall on the Wentworth campus, even more ugly on the inside then the outside - and Architecture is one of the highlighted degrees from the university.
They still make pull-tab cans... The Pepsi cans in the vending machines in China still had them last year.
