I mean explain to me how making it advantageous for corporations to re-amortize funds being held overseas and spend them here instead of elsewhere is a problem and then get back to me. People are getting paid more, whether through bonuses or lower taxes. Apple is investing in the American economy, whether it wants to or is pushed to do so for tax reasons.

I won’t exactly defend Applebee’s and the like, but as a resident of one of those shithole towns I eat at those joints happily enough. Sure, a nice family-owned non-chain with fresh food is preferable, but You work with what you’ve got available.

I travel a lot to shithole towns and sometimes the only restaurant open past 8 pm is Applebees. It’s not great but I just shrug and go with it. Food that’s bland and warm and consistent coast to coast.

From a business perspective I think most of the bonuses are coming from tax reserves companies keep. It’s not too tough to figure how much a company can reduce it’s reserve. It takes a more time to figure out wage and salary increases. Companies usually have formal process to follow.

I’d take $300 if someone wants to give it to me. Since it wasn’t planned for I would be able to go crazy and get a weighted blanket or buy a sound bar for my fiance.
