If there’s a situation where the US military attacks its own citizens, it is almost by definition because there’s a civil war going on. If there’s a civil war underway, sending in B-2s to carpetbomb any area is as likely to kill those on “your side” as those opposed to you.

That’s pretty much what the Taliban, ISIS, Syrian forces on both sides of the Civil War, Yemeni rebels, etc. also say.

So, in your scenario the US government is just attacking every civilian in the country?

He received fire, was apparently hit by the resident neighbor, and then fled the scene whereupon he was pursued by the “good guy with a gun” and the driver of the vehicle until he lost control of his car, left the roadway, and then apparently shot himself.

But no one said the “day was saved” by the armed neighbor. What seems to be the case, though, is that the armed neighbor may have stopped the day from being much worse by firing on the jackass terrorist that was shooting up the town.

Stopping someone from killing more people than 25 is not success.

Every firearm can be called “an assault weapon.”

Then what’s it matter what content appears on it? You know it’s likely bullshit when you see the domain name.

The bullet the shooter used to kill himself could have just as easily been used to kill some other innocent civilian if he hadn’t met resistance. It could have easily been Bad Guy: 27+ many more.

To be fair, though, if you’re going to talk about an issue, it’s important to understand it. When people say “ban assault weapons” they often genuinely don’t understand that there’s no difference between an AR-15 and a semi-auto handgun. That gets the conversation off to a bad start right off the bat.

Bending over and taking it, with or without lube, is how about 90% of the commenters here define “GREAT TIME!”

Worked wonders in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc.

I think you’d be better off talking to anti-gun nuts and teaching them about the Second Amendment.

No, it’s accepting reality.

The shooter dropped his weapon after he received fire. For all anyone knows, he planned to shoot everyone in town and would not have stopped shooting upon leaving the church.
